Play Cricket
Market Harborough Cricket Club was formed in 1840. Its ground is recognised as one of the best settings and playing surfaces in the County and over the years has hosted County second XI games and league Cup Finals. We also have 4 cricket nets for practise sessions.
Seniors
Whether you are looking for high-level competition or a casual hit with friends, we have a team for you.
- League Cricket: We field two senior sides on Saturdays in the Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket League. Our 1st XI proudly competes in the Premiership Section.
- Social T20: For those who prefer a shorter, more social format, we offer T20 opportunities through the “Harborough Heat” and “The Ham”—perfect for mid-week cricket under a bit less pressure.
Matches are played on Saturdays throughout the season with training held midweek. Training is open to absolutely everyone no matter what the standard; please feel free to get in touch if you would like to come along to a training session.

Girls Softball Cricket – Core Pillars
The Market Harborough Girls’ Softball Cricket Team is built on three core pillars:
Inclusivity
We believe that every girl, regardless of prior cricket experience, deserves a safe and welcoming space. Our team is open to all, fostering a sense of belonging and camaraderie.
Skill Development
Through regular practice sessions, we aim to nurture cricket skills, teamwork, and confidence. Whether it’s batting, bowling, or fielding, our players will grow both on and off the pitch.
Fun & Friendship
Cricket isn’t just about the game! It’s about building lasting connections. We emphasise the joy of playing, celebrating victories together and supporting each other through challenges.
Aligning with the ECB’s Vision
Our program aligns seamlessly with the England and Wales Cricket Board’s (ECB) vision to transform women and girls’ cricket. The ECB’s strategic plan focuses on participation and pathway development for aspiring female cricketers aged U11-17. By introducing softball cricket, we contribute to making cricket a gender-neutral sport and growing the women’s game.
We welcome enquiries from Young female sports leaders who might be interested in supporting the coaching.
